Miles for Mitch
Join/support our team’s efforts!
Mitch was diagnosed with Early Onset Parkinson's in 2009 at the age of 42. He kept it very private for a number of years as he wanted to maintain normalcy for Elana, Shawn and Joanna. Over time, however, the medications became less and less effective and Mitch decided to have DBS surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation )in 2014 . Ever the warrior, Mitch returned to work, but Parkinson's doesn't quit and by March 2016 Mitch was no longer able to continue working. Those who know Mitch well, know that a 25 hour day would be too short, so while this decision was necessary it was very difficult.
Mitch has a large, warm and generous heart. It was never too late or too far to go for someone in need. Having something to celebrate? He was your guy. Mitch is as humble as he is generous. He'd never ask for anything. But I'm asking. Join us on April 27 in Central Park. If you can't join us, consider donating. There are over 1 million Americans living with Parkinson's. That number is climbing. Let's work to wipe this awful disease out, before it affects more people we love!
With much love,
