2017 Parkinson's Unity Walk

The Betty Bunch

Join/support our team’s efforts!

1.5 years ago Betty was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. It was a shock to us all. The first year of her diagnosis we were all in a denial phase. For everybody that knows her they know she is an active non stop type of person. Any day of the summer she could either be found kayaking the Long Island Sound or biking to Jones Beach or both. She is a brilliant teacher and an incredible wife and mother of 4. We all thought at the time how could this healthy, active 57 year old woman possibly have Parkinson’s. Her mother, a loving grandmother to 8 had developed Parkinson’s in her 80s so the concept was just not feasible to us at all. This just proves the case that more information needs to be out there on Parkinson’s Disease. We need to work together to raise awareness and find the cause and a cure for it.

We have formed this team The Betty Bunch because more than one million people in the U.S. are living with Parkinson’s disease. The cause is unknown and while treatment options help to manage symptoms, currently there is no cure. Every walker and donor will bring the Parkinson's community one step closer to finding the cause of and cure for Parkinson’s disease.

Betty has always put everybody in her life before her and now it is time for us all to put her first and do whatever we can to help find the cure and a cause for PD. So please join The Betty Bunch on Saturday, April 22, 2017 or make a donation for our first Parkinson’s Unity Walk in Central Park, NY. 100% of donations go to research!

The Betty Bunch will also be walking in memory of Betty’s loving mother and fellow ‘Parkie’
Marie Randazzo.
