There are several reasons I am participating in this walk and supporting this cause - the first being my mother, Margaret Zier, who suffered with Parkinson's Disease for several years before passing away in April 2018. My father cared for my mother from the onset of the disease until the very last moment of her life. 57 years of marriage can teach you a thing or two about real true love, about commitment and loyalty. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be the daughter of two loving, caring and outstanding people. My mother has always been my biggest supporter and has loved me unconditionally since the day I was born, never judging, never imposing, always only love and compassion. To her very last moment, the only thing my mother was concerned about was her family. I am blessed to have been raised by such incredible, considerate and devoted parents.
Maria Paz is another very special woman I know who lives with this disease. Maria is an extremely strong, motivating, amazing person who continues to battle Parkinson's Disease; every day she fights, every day she wins...every day she is supported by her exceptional daughter, Roxana, who I am walking with to support this cause. Every time I am fortunate enough to visit Maria, I am greeted with so much love and affection. Maria will always make you feel "at home" when you see her. Her daughter, (and also one of my very best friends) Roxana, was my guide through the ordeal my Mother suffered from and I am grateful each moment that she was there to be a shoulder I could lean on. All I wish to do is honor these two amazing women and support all individuals who suffer with this disease.
- Let's go Mamis linda Zier and Paz!!!
Our team is participating in the Parkinson’s Unity Walk in New York's Central Park, to help raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s disease research.
We have formed this team because more than one million people in the U.S. are living with Parkinson’s disease. The cause is unknown and while treatment options help to manage symptoms, currently there is no cure. Every walker and donor will bring the Parkinson's community one step closer to finding the cause of and cure for Parkinson’s disease.
Please join our team or make a donation. 100% of donations go to research.
