Thanks for visiting our team page!
As many of you already know, our team walks in memory of my grandfather or "Dada", Raman Patel, who was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease in 1985 at which point, my family became a part of the Parkinson's community. When I was in 3rd grade I founded Team Crunch (named after Dada's favorite chocolate bar). In 2011, my brother Rajan and cousins Evan, Asha, and Noori joined up with me and we took our fundraising online. So far, Team Crunch has raised almost $38,000 thanks to the amazingly generous donations from you, our friends and family. Pretty cool for 5 kids! We are looking to continue raising that number this year and are counting on your support. Please click on a member to go to his or her donation page in order to donate. We greatly appreciate any donation that can be given because what's special about the Unity Walk is that 100% of what you contribute goes directly to Parkinson's research which also benefits research on other neurodegenerative diseases! (Fun fact: Over $1.5 million dollars that were raised at last year’s walk have been awarded as research grants to seven U.S. Parkinson’s Foundations to fund research!)
Seven years ago, Team Crunch was very excited and honored to have been spotlighted by the Unity Walk organizers as the "Unity Walk Champ for January 2012". You can take a look by checking out the link below:
And if you're free in April 2020 when the walk is held, we warmly invite you to join us in Central Park to help support. You can join our team and actively fundraise or feel free to just come out and enjoy spending a day with us. Either way, we’d love to see you!
